Optima Arm Barriers
Optima Arm Barriers are access control systems which are designed to control vehicle entrance/ exit points and manage the traffic flow. Arm barrier models vary according to the site conditions and requirements.
Optima arm barriers can be integrated with many access control systems, some features can be personalized according to customer preferences such as arm length and adjustable opening time. There are 3 types of arm barriers: mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic.
Mechanical arm barriers are usually preferred where there is less traffic flow with no need for automatic arm motion. Mechanical arm barriers have a simple design and operation principle. The arm can be operated manually, with no need for electrical energy. On the contrary, electromechanical arm barriers operate with an electric motor, therefore are mostly preferred in areas that have intense traffic flow. Smooth and effective operation can be achieved by integrating accessories such as loop detector and remote control. In addition, integration with license plate recognition system will provide highly advanced security. Types of electromechanical arm barriers include fence arm barrier, arm barrier with tyre killer and articulated arm barrier. Articulated arm barriers are the only solution for cases in which the ceiling height is low for a regular arm barrier to operate.
Hydraulic arm barriers are controlled by hydraulic cylinder. This model of arm barriers are mostly preferred to maintain high level of security. It’s durable and strong structure prevents unauthorized vehicles from passing through. Optima Engineering regularly tests its durable arm barriers with simulation analysis. In addition to these analysis, Optima Engineering successfully completes crash tests conducted for arm barriers to provide advanced security for customers.
