OPTIMA
MEDICAL WASTE STERILIZATION SYSTEMS

Design Criteria and Unique Features of OptiMet MWS Model Medical Waste Sterilizers

OptiMet is the most innovative model in the field of "medical waste disposal" and has been designed by using only the good features of the well accepted sterilizers from different manufacturers.

The below good features have first time come together in a medical waste sterilization equipment to create -the best ever made- "sure medical waste sterilizer".

Pre-shredder: shredder is integrated in the pressurized vessel to achieve guaranteed and homogeneous sterilization.

Easy access to shredder: for easy access during maintenance and repair works, cassette-like design has been succeeded between feed hopper and sterilization vessel.

Pressure vessel from lid to lid: sterilization process runs from lid to lid at feed to discharge ends and the shredder blades are sterilized during process cycle

Emergency sterilization of shredder: if any work is required on shredder before the sterilization cycle is finished, emergency process runs and steam is sent over the feed hopper and shredder to ensure safe handing.

Strong and effective agitation in sterilization vessel: to ensure homogeneous and sure sterilization and also preventing the formation of waste pine-cones due to melting of plastics in the waste, a strong agitation and motion of waste is ensured by means of rotation of Archimedes screw.

Fast heating up of the sterilization vessel: to increase the capacity and shorten the process cycle time, fast heating up by steam and external hot oil circulation is combined (this is not included in the standard system and can be added upon special inquiry).

Double-safety lid design: lids are driven by strong hydraulic power and also locked by special design, 3-pistons, pneumatic locking mechanisms.

Hydraulic assist piston: a strong hydraulic ram assists the convey of the waste (in bags and containers) in the feed hopper towards the shredder.

Stainless steel construction: 316 L stainless steel is used in the entire pressurized system, to ensure long-life time and corrosion free system.

Two-pieces frame: the whole system is mounted and suspended over a two-pieces frame so that easy transport on the highways and placement at the installation site is achieved

Alternative waste disposal ways: sterilized waste is disposed either into a waste bin or over an optional conveying belt, depending on the preferences of the operator

Fully automatic process: Entire process is controlled and monitored by programmable logic controller system (PLC). Process control and automation units, Schneider, France so that parts and service can be easily found anywhere in the world

Flexible software: OptiMet designed software to fit the local requirements in any country

Safe and easy operation: Because of the fully automatic design and simple operation, manual handling of the waste is at minimum level and the entire system can be operated by only one person

No hazardous discharge: above the feed hopper, there is a suction unit to create negative air pressure media and also exists a filtering line consisting of 3-stages of filtering media so that not any pathogens or particles are released to the environment.
